Endorse the Language Petition

Telugu, our mother language is like heavenly nectar (amrutam).

Given a choice, we all like to talk, listen and sing in our mother tongue.

Last year FTAA submitted an application to Australian Federal Government to recognise Telugu language as a national community language. But that application was rejected due to the following two reasons:

  1. As per Census 2011, the number of Telugu people in Australia are less than ten thousand.
  2. It is perceived that Telugu people overall have good communication skills in English and thereby there is no need for language translators in Government services.

Now you have the opportunity to make a difference and show your support for a great cause.
