Given a choice, we all like to talk, listen and sing in our mother tongue.
Last year FTAA submitted an application to Australian Federal Government to recognise Telugu language as a national community language. But that application was rejected due to the following two reasons:
- As per Census 2011, the number of Telugu people in Australia are less than ten thousand.
- It is perceived that Telugu people overall have good communication skills in English and thereby there is no need for language translators in Government services.
Now you have the opportunity to make a difference and show your support for a great cause.
